Engine Troubles Runs Rough Flat Spot

99% sure you have an ignition problem.

The test series I gave you tested the pilot jets, the primary main jets and fuel inlet valve. No black smoke and smooth running out of gear.

The carb you have is calibrated to be very clos out of the box and it proves that by being smooth out of gear.

The loaded only roughness is indicative of an ignition problem. Assuming the roughness is more random than rhythmic. Only the ignition system is influenced by increases in cylinder pressure.

Right now I am thinking coil or dizzy cap.

It wouldn't be the first time I've had a new part not good out of the box but don't think it likely. The distributor, cap, rotor, coil are all new. As is the ignition module. I had the same issue before the distributor crapped out on me (module).

What are the chances it's an internal problem and what could it be?

I'll do some checks on the distributor part. Fyi, I haven't set the timing, only set the crank to 0 and stabbed the distributor. I don't think this problem could be solved with basic timing but maybe.

If it is super retard style, it won't run right but won't idle at the vacuum you are seeing either. If the timing is off, I would think it is over advanced if anything.

Back the timing off a tad (dizzy cw). Re- test better, worse or no change.

Engine grounds all good?

I'd be on the points and condenser dizzy redo like "fliegen auf scheiße" .
