I need to pu my 304 from my Scout to at least replace my cam bearings. This hoist is in post #1 of the "sonjamotor lives" thread. It seems to math this harbor freight crane,

shop crane, 2 ton foldable

In any event, is the harbor freight crane able to do the job?

That one is an updated version of the one I had purchased from horrible fright. More than sufficient to pull an IH motor. But since I been in my current man cave I used it twice in the last 3 or 4 years.
Here's how I pull and install motors now.:ihih:

My hf cherry picker did the job on a 392 just fine. If it had the bell housing and 5 sp trans still attached it might have been a bit heavy though.

Did you use the 1 ton or 2 ton version? All the hf's locally only have the 1 ton

Have them order you up the 2 ton version. The IH motor only is well over 700lbs. The extra capacity wont be having you quaking in your boots or checking your shorts afterwards.

Way back before I moved into my man cave with the electric hoist, I used my hf 2 ton cherry picker to install a 351w motor that had the transmission and transfer case still attached
