EFI/DUI/MPFI

Hey Jeff, posting about efi stuff. I am working on going to efi, but I have some issues with my setup. If I buy the dui system now what will the efi system cost me and can I add it later. Next, if I get an efi system for my 304 can it be adapted or adjusted to work on my future 392 build up? Next, can the efi system be modified to a multi-port on your aluminum intake? I have a great running 304 right now that I have set up with a pertronix system. I have a 392-e waiting in the wings to be built up for my Scout. If I missed anything any directions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not Jeff but I will try to answer a few of the questions.

Imho if you want to upgrade your ignition now I would recommend the duraspark conversion with the GM module.
Then later on when you go FI all you have to do is lock out the mechanical advance and hook it up to the efi module.

The dui/hei can be made to work but is a little more involved. The other option would be to keep the hei and get a fuel only FI system. You won't have the computer controlled timing but if you are really dead set on the hei then it will work.

The TBI systems use most all the same parts. The differences are the chip and injectors. Unless you opt for a 454 throttle body for the 392. The you would need a small jumper for the iac connector on the throttle body.

If the 392 will be a driver then the small TBI will work. If you are going for a hotrod then the 454 TBI May be better.

The TBI computer and wiring is different then the mpfi so no they will not just swap later.
