Easter weekend wheelin

Well the day started out great, some sunshine after a few days of rain in the valley, hit some fog on the way up and then the sunshine the whole day, could not have asked for better weather.

The snow was deep, but as long as we followed each other was easy going, we made a lot of progress fast, but about 1pm Matt got stuck and after like an hour we had him out and had lunch. Decide to head back and the snow had gotten really soft. Randy had busted a hub and had a heck of a time staying on the trail. I think every 100 feet he would slide off and have to winch himself out. Once the sun went down the snow start to firm back up and we made good progress. Started in about 10am and back out about 10pm.

So Craig, how far along on the map you posted in this thread do you think we got?

Oh crap. Got the one busted stud for the high steer arm out of the knuckle but stud number two the easy out snapped.

As for the snapped easy out, your only option might be the stud pulling vid I posted. I would see if you can drill the easyout, maybe a carbide bit will go through. I have some rodman bit's that would do it, but it would be a lot easier in a drill press. ( not an easy feat)

as for how far, I forgot to turn on the gps, Mike would know better than me. I'm thinking about a mile from the slabs.

I'll have randys knuckle fixed tomorrow. I got about a mile past you guys. If you look at the map it was just past the second creek crossing that scouty was having trouble.

I was gonna go back up this weekend, but I'm gonna hang with randy.

Mike made quick work of getting the busted stud out. Maybe 1/2 an hour. Here are some pictures of the damage. I'm sure glad this broke when we were finished. What a hassle it would have been to drag my broke Scout all the way out.
