I have a 1972 1110 Travelall with a 392,727,4x4. It has the early style valve body with only wot kick down,no partial throttle kickdown. I would like to know how to get the partial throttle kick down.
If I put a shift kit like the transgo tf2 in there will that solve the problem or do I need a different valve body?

Thanks

The part-throttle kickdown system was developed primarily as an emissions system add-on and was a chrysler-developed changeover that also affected all other manufacturers that used that transmission. It has no advantage whatsoever other than that.

You want a 727 that has an earlier "kickdown" point? Simply backshift to second or first with the lever!

The entire valve body would have to be exchanged along with the input shaft and front drum.

A tf-2 shift reprogramming system has several major advantages for the transmission. It does allowing shifting into any gear manually at any road speed. So you would never want to select first gear position at 45 mph! But it does not change anything regarding actual shift point or the shift point vs. Road speed. It does make the shift point much more fiorm and quick which is a huge advantage to these units.
