DUI DISTRIBUTOR

I'm looking at buying the dui distributor unit that IHPartsAmerica offers I read good reviews on it where it has the product review on the page but before I go dropping over 500$ is I want to ask if anyone out there currently running a dui distributor on their Scout im kind of looking for opinions on if its worth the money or not thanks!!!

I run a dui on my 1975 392. It is not a Scout but a truck, 1-ton 4x4.

Runs great, starts every time. It replaced the old Holley gold box electronic ignition that was failing too frequently for my taste.

However,....check out the injection forum and you will find cheaper do-it-yourself electronic ignition alternatives by bill-usn-1. Much cheaper and you have the pleasure of doing it yourself and learning your new ignition system.

You probably read my review, I am still glad I put in the dui. One of the main reasons I put this in was I got tired of my dizzy getting wet. I drive in a lot of snow and it comes through the radiator right on to the dizzy and there I sit. Anyway it is expensive but install is so easy. My Scout started first crank, of course I was very careful with rotor position on the old and new. So all I had to do was to verify timing it was right on. I have not had to touch it since the install, probably over a year ago. Still runs great!

Installed one in my 75 with a 258 and it was a huge improvement, never give my ignition a second thought now. Quality piece of American work.

I also installed one on my sons Jeep wagoneer, with the amc 6-258 engine.
It replaced the original electronic ignition system, big improvement.
