driveline problems

Well I belive that I might need to get my front driveline balanced as you increas your speed in 4low and 4high u get increased vibrations so I removed the front drive line and put the car back into 4high and low and no vibrations at all.....but I noticed that it seems to have been balanced befor so I thought its intresting....do u guys have any opinions?

Are the u joints and slip yoke in good condition. Is the shaft still straight? Has the truck been lifted?

To test the slip yoke, with the drive shaft installed, grab the shaft in the vicinity of the yoke and move it side to side. If any movement is detected it's worn or the shaft is extended to far.

The Scout II I drive is lifted 4" and that's about the limit without changing some things.

Some other things to check is if the u joint is binding against the axle yoke and are angles of your xfer case and front axle pinion parallel.

Sac driveline will balance your driveline for cheap.

But it its lifted you could be having u-joint issues too.
I had to run a Tom woods offset at the t-case to prevent binding.
