Door Jam switch

Looking for any input on these.
I found these very cheap, yet looks durable, would it be a workable substitute for the stock door jam switches? The hole on the door is little over 1/2 inch wide so the barrel part of this would fit in? Any thoughts?

I called this morning and would prefer sourcing the switches through IHOnly. I don't even like going through the brick and mortar stores to ask for anything cause I usually get blank looks.
