My engine has gone thru number of changes (good for me) in the last few months since my traveler's hibernation. Ic 345 (who knows) when purchased equipped with CA smog equipment air pump, tubes, egr, air cleaner, etc. Prestolite dizzy number 1d114002w249. Recent edelbrock 1406 4brl spread bore with adapter plate, etc. Afe open element 14" filter no oil, egr plated, air pump/ bracket gone, air tubes removed, plugged, pcv intact but with open breather, no hoses, changed to 33 gallon tank, still have mechanical pump, supply only, no return, charcoal canister, just the basics. Now, before the wreck, got it running good, but then of course ad to park it. In it's reinvention, I removed all the smog crap so I could see my engine. All of my vacuum "users" are gone, save two, the vacuum advance which is operable, and the power brakes. With power timing it I gain nothing. Runs like a dog, a slow one. I have not changed the distributor, guess it's an "emissions" curve. If recurving would be in order, what specs should I adhere to? Engine is a 392, believed to be stock, msd coil, have 9mm taylor wires on hand, but not installed. No catylitic converter, 4 into one exhaust manifolds, edelbrock car, originally a carter tq. Pics on next post. Thanks y'all.
