Differential angle

This has probably been asked and answered so I apologize in advance but I couldn't find a complete answer.
I've installed a rs and am getting ready to do an knuckle rotation. Shooting for conventional wisdom 5-6 degrees.
I'm using re-arched alcan springs and slight body lift but the 33x1250x15's are hitting fender before max articulation. Figuring to solve that issue with additional body lift.
1. How to determine best front pinion angle?
A. Straight line at rest?
B. At what degree is r/p lubrication affected?
2. Modifiying spring pads on diff after above is determined?
A. Want to be shimless
b. Want to avoid side grinder if at all possible.
Thanks in advance.

No one has any more experience in dealing with this issue than Jeff and Darren at ihon hq in Grass Valley. I've emailed Jeff to take a look at this post and give ya some advice. So hang on and someone will get back to ya!

Some of these questions I simply cannot answer because I do not have the answer. There is no set angle on where to set the pinion up at as there are a lot of variables involved. If you do not want to install shims or use a grinder how do you expect to make any adjustments? Do some searcing on the forum as the answers are here but keep in mind just about every set up is different in some way or another.

You have only 2 real options with your pinion angle, anything in the middle May work and/or May result in high speed vibrations:

1) either equal and oposite to the t-case front output angle. But if you have enough lift you might be exceeding the operationg angle of your u-joint with this method.

2) straight line to the t-case front output and use a cv joint on the t-case output.

Only you can pick the one that works best for you.

First thing I do is get the knuckle "c"s off the axle. The I get the pinion angle dialed in, then determine the adjustment I need to make to the spring perches to get those back to working. I tack weld the correct degree shim right to the spring perches. After that is all set and the axle is back under the truck I set my caster angle (5 or 6 is a good number). I pull it all back out and weld everything in for good.
