Not sure if the L Series trucks had this, most likely the R's and S trucks did ..
The above photo is a 56 S-120 4X4 sporting left and right 15 ga.. tanks ..
I would love to find a right side Oem tank, but with having a 30 ga. aux. tank in the bed and the driver's side tank it's not a necessity ..
45 gallons gets it down the road pretty dang far before needing to fuel up .. 60 gallons would really add some road miles between fuel ups ..

Be super cool to run up on a NOS, but a used one will be fine.. Only need the switch and plate, I have a nut and knob ..

1/3 of the box is for tools, the rest is the gas tank ...

I believe I have been scammed !!

Money is gone ... Bank locked my CC, had to make a trip to the Bank for a new one ..

This sucks big time and will slow me down a lot since I'm using my SS check to fund this project and staying alive ..
Looks like I'll be eating beans for Christmas !!

I got scammed by Sean Rodriguez. Sent him the money Using Zelle, ...He says he never got it and wanted me to send another payment .. Then he asked for my Zelle account info...

. I'm sorry to hear of this happening. Were you scammed from off of this website? If so, I will need to know the user name so we can ban this user and make sure they do not have any other alias accounts on here.

Contact was made from one of Facebook's International pages ..
Takes a person with a real cold heart to rip off people during the Christmas season ..

We've talked about this in our newsletter earlier this year about how many people were being scammed on many of the Facebook pages. It's the wild west these days when it comes to buying parts from private individuals on Facebook.

Good news ....

Found another fuel switch from a trusted and relievable Gent .. He has a few other parts that I'm buying ..
Parts are still on the truck and will be pulled in due time .. Need to wait for next months SS check in order to pay up ...

Also nailed down a used rear view mirror that I was needing from my nephew ... He's upgrading to a unit with more bells & whistles ..

While I was waiting for the Gent to pull the used fuel switch from his truck I kelt looking for one ..
Think I've nailed down a NOS switch that been sitting in a IH dealership since the 50's !!
Should have it in my greasy hands this coming week ..

Still looking for the right side gas tank ..
Beginning to think I may have the need to build one using a left side tank ??
That entails moving the filler neck from one end to the other end and patching the cut-out hole where the neck use to be ..

Have seen re-pop tanks on the web ...
Super killer fab work ..

But do think I can modify a Oem to work for a right side aux tank ..

Speaking of the fuel tank I'm seeking ....

Another situation dealing with Scammers !
Fellow said he has a tank ... Cool, I said send me some photos ..

He hunted all over the internet trying to find a photo of the right side early 50's International pickup fuel tank ..
Sent bout 8 photos of tanks off of every freaking truck but a IH ...

Wanted to know what method of payment I would be using ?? ... Told him not to worry about that at the moment till I see the tank I'm buying ...

Here came more photos of oddball tanks that he sent to me ... At that point I knew who I was dealing with !!
So I put him on a bit to see how far he would go to cheat me out of some cash ..

I sent him photos of the tank i needed ...

More photos of wrong tanks and he found a photo of a R-120 truck that he said was a R-100 that the tank he's selling to me came off of ...

Got to say, the boy really spent some time on the net to find photos to back up his BS story ...
This went on for 3 days ...

I finally told him that I was onto his gig from day one ...
Ya know what, all his contact info also disappeared .. Lol

I have looked in all the L, R, S parts catalogs, and have never found a part number for a passenger side 15 gal. tank. And if you look at the front corners of the box, it has to be modified to even accept one. But there is an option. Take a driver's side tank and turn it one quarter turn. There's a little fabricating to be done, and having another tank to cut from would be helpful, but I think it would be possible, with skillful cutting and patching, to cut the sender/outlet portion from the top, and the same size piece from the side and swap them. An early L tank would be ideal, as the outlet was on the side near the bottom, and when removed and the tank turned a quarter turn, that hole can be plugged as a drain.

Thanks, good info ..

Been giving some thought to converting a left side tank ...
From what I'm understanding the right side aux was a ordered option, being so not a lot was made.
Did run up on one off of a Travelall, same tank as the pickups, but the filler neck is longer.

At the moment, I'm on the downhill slide of having the left side tank ready to install ...
Soon to be working on the in-bed tank .. Installing a sending unit on it and refinishing is on the menu for it ...

Replaced the sending unit and did a treatment using Por15 got it back to usable condition ..
Working on the running board is going well ..

Hopping to have it under paint real soon .. Weather permitting ..

I'm happy as a Pig in shi* ...

Now if I can only find the right side tank would really be a stroke of luck ...

Must install a sending unit in the bed tank to be able to use the gauge switch ..
The right side tank may take a long time to find or build, not going to worry about it for now. Will be running the wire and leave it hanging until the tank goes on line .
