I have a 77 SSII with 345, 2bbl, tf727, d44's w/3.54's.

There was a posting a while back about "rewire" of the dimmer knob wire on oem light switch so that the dash instrument lights always stayed bright and not dim . I can't seem to find the post.

Sure would like a "reprint".

Thanks?

If you want full bright dash lights just solder the wiper arm in the max on position. The new cheap headlight switches May also need to be soldered where the terminal tabs meet the contacts for the wiper. The switches are just made where the terminal tab is slipped through the thin copper sheet and are subject to corrosion there.

One side of the dimmer is connected to ground, the wiper side connected to the lights, the lights connected to power.

Thinking hard here, but would it not make sense just to connect the wiper terminal to ground and have full bright........just thinking....:icon_eh2:

In all sense thats the end result by soldering the wiper to the spring it rides on and soldering the connection where the rider meets the rotator esentially makes it a complete circuit. By doing it this way you retain the on/off of the switch....
