Dana 27 rear axle - the longer one. After 30+ years of wheeling, I finally broke an axle!

Yup and 200,000 miles on the 67 Travelall, more miles on a Scout II and only about 3000 miles on this Scout '65 80. The worst part is that it broke while towing it from san francisco up to the ranch in cazadero, about 90 miles of highway. When I rebuilt the power loc, I added an extra belville spring to the pac which made it chirp in the bends on pavement. That's gotta be what made it break.

Thanks Jeff. The guys are supposed to bring me one this weekend at herring creek. If that doesn't happen, I'll be in touch.
Soaking releases that hub? This Scout drives through austen creek every time we go hunting. I had a heck of a time getting the hub off. Finally, willys america - lots of experience with Dana 27s - said to just whale on the puller and it came off!

The soaking will help the ease of my press, it just wont jump 2' off the floor, just 1'... Jeff
