D44 front axle shafts

I have a red 77 sii, 196, 3 speed, d-44 front and back - basically bone stock. Runs really nice and the only things done to it are a nice stereo, and a switch over from the stock glass fuse block to the more modern bayonet fuse block.
Was going through the front axle to freshen it up, took it apart, was going to clean up the axle shafts but found that I had two spares that I redid a few years back. Putting them side by side, I notice that the "spares" are about 1/4 inch longer (short shaft) and 1/2 inch longer (long shaft). I don't think this is an issue as maybe these are a different production lot? Any thoughts?

As long as the original shafts are not beat up and/or damaged, it shouldn't be a problem using them.

The longer shafts might be made for a wider d-44. Possibly out of an IH truck.

Both pairs are out of sii's. I am guessing that maybe difference in production lots. Appreciate the response.
