Hello, been lurking in the tech forums a while, had most questions answered already, but one I can't find an answer to.
On a 75 Scout II, Holley 1530 electronic diz/gold box setup, should the coil have a condenser/capacitor attached to the positive (+) terminal? Looking in the s/m no diagram shows a condenser with the electronic ign circuit. Coil primary resistance is about 1.7 ohms. I'm thinking its a po screw up.
It bolts onto the coil bracket, and looks factory, but it is possible that the coil and bracket assy is a boneyard replacement off a points equipped system, and the condenser was never removed. Further the condenser is always on the (-) side in a points system. It runs unaffected with it connected or disconnected.
I'd like a definitive answer before running it without. I'm just scared to fry the gold box as I understand they have a tendency to quit.
Thanks in advance
