I have a 1978;scout ll. I’d like to replace the clutch with a new one but can’t seem to find the how to anywhere. Are there ant video tutorials or steps I can follow. I have a 345 with a 4 speed stick in my scout

See link below:

I won't attempt a step by step here, but I will touch on a few key points. It helps to have a transmission jack. The rear of the engine will need to be supported in advance of you removing the trans X-member and separating the bell housing from the engine. You can either run a 4x4 post across the fenders with some short chunks of chain bolted into vacant threaded holes in the backs of the cylinder heads to support from above, or you can rig a separate bottle jack under the rear of the engine block. Be careful about putting lifting force against the bottom of oil pan. The trans tunnel cover is removable. You'll want to have it out of the way so you can better see what's going on. Obviously both prop shafts will need to come undone, so the wheels will need to be chocked for safety.

I find it's easier to remove the transfer case from the trans when doing a clutch. When bolted together the assembly is rather hard to balance.

Oh wow ok. In your opinion. Is it worth getting the book manual. Or is it simply remove and replace
