clear title and vin plate

What is fishy about it? Bought a couple of scouts from timber dealer that were on his land. I have exhausted every search for previous owners and title searches. I want to rebuild and put one on road as a vintage/custom vehicle. I need title to put it on the road and want a matching vin plate. I have seen them for sale on here before.

Just because you have seen them does not make it legal.
Please don't get me wrong, I would do the same thing if my circumstances were the same as yours. You could run into a problem if the frame is ever checked and does not match the vin on the body.

But the way these things have been piecemealed to gether over the years, you could probably get away with it
 
Forgive my ignorance, I did not know it was illegal. Nevermind this request, I will try and find another route. Thanks for the heads up.
 
I have the bill of sale for all three, and even an old title for one of them but the dmv is no help. I have filled out every form and payed every fee but the dmv has been no help. They ( the dmv )are worthless. I can't ask for past owners to find them because they cant give out info. I cant do an abandoned vehicle because it wasn't technically abandoned they were sold as a fixture of the property. They have given me nothing but the run around. I guess I will find one with a good title that I can piece and part with others and just part them out. Thanks anyway guys.
