howdy, time to surface. Wow, it’s been a year since arriving in oregon. Miss ya all. I’ve been busy and staying out of trouble. I love it up here. I moved out of tracy and anthony’s house and now live in cave junction…quaint little town.
I opened up a new store, in town last July, mainly to give me something to do. Fixed myself up with a beautiful display showroom. The naysayers said there’s not enough business for our area, but I’m showing them otherwise. And I haven’t even invaded the rouge valley. Shops up here in southern oregon charge mini-bar prices and get away with it…no longer.
Just in my neck of the woods, there’s enough IH’s for my own little IH show at our local lake selmec. Humm
wouldn’t that be a hoot? I wish I had my old 1300 up here, it could’ve been fun. That would make 2-1300’s in town. Ivih – illinois valley IH.
The 2 pigs I raised taste wonderful. Butcher said they were some spoiled pigs. The garden was fun to do, lots of work. New respect for migrant farm workers; not their political status, but work ethic.
Taking part in a few civic groups.
-joined the cj lions club. Fun group. They like doing stuff.
-serving on the board of the local little league. In my trophy time, I’ve been to lots of baseball, soccer, football, etc. Board meetings and seen things from a vendor’s point of view. Now I’m seeing it from a different perspective, interesting.
-this is cool for me. I now have a board position on the local chamber of commerce. I couldn’t be elected because I didn’t have enough tenure, but I could be appointed. Most of you know that I like to think outside the box, sometimes way out there. In this situation, I take pride in that I’ve managed to ruffle the feathers of some of the town’s movers and shakers with my theories. I’ve disrupted a social schedule, which is their idea of a chamber. I thought differently, and convinced them & others to redirect the chamber’s focus and get back to the basics of business.
Weight is still hovering around 205.
