carb float problems ???

I have a 1968 IH I just rebuilt the carb "not to sure which carb it is I no its a Holley single barrel I forget the model #" but when I start to crank it over it will fire but spews fuel out of a hole above the bowl, I no im not that specific here but id like to be pointed in the right direction and yes I am new to this forum stuff
 
You can check the "sticky" 19xx carbs at the top of carb tech about which carb you have.

Not a carb expert, but float level is wrong; float has a hole and has gas in it; or you put it together wrong are issues that come to mind.
