Hi I have a 74 Scout II with a brand new 79 motor with a spreadbore manifold. I just ran into and became the new owner of a beautiful brand new Holley 80457sa carb I would like to use. Any chance? I read here it is the perfect carb for the squarebore manifold :icon_biggrin:

what would you guys do?

Btw motor is out of Scout, in longblock + intake condition, building now, im open to swapping for a squarebore if its a good idea....just have to locate one or trade mine for one or something

thanks
jack

In your shoes, barring a quick and easy sourcing of a squarebore intake, I think I'd get an adapter and run it that way.

If you are up for a drive and you're still looking for one there is a '68 1200 with a squarebore intake on it in the ecology off of main street off the 805 in san diego, at least there was 3 days ago. You're in orange county right?

I probably should have mentioned I didn't see it with the carb off, but it has a 4150g (list 8849) on it which is a square bore carb. It's a 392 and it's got water in the oil.
