Cam question

For my 68 800 with the 152 engine would a 304 cam work in it? It seems to me like it would since the engines are almost identical and you would only use half the lobes.

Unfortunately no. The firing order is wrong. It would however physical fit with the extra lobes having no associated lifters to push on.
