On the weekend of April 17th thru 19th scouts west members are having a run to calico. This is a recon mission as we are taking a long look at this area as the new home for ihwr in 2010and beyond.
There are many opportunities to have trail runs and also many things and places to go to do if your rig is more of a pavement roller.
For those who are not familiar with this area, some of the original ghost town buildings were transplanted to knott's berry farm and have long ago become the heart and soul of that venerable park. The surrounding barstow area offers several attractions that have something for everyone. You can google calico and come up with many sites that will provide you with additional information about the area; here are just two :
calico ghost town, an old west mining adventure, in California
calico ghost town
We are working hard to present a truly unforgettable event that folks across the IH spectrum will be eager to attend year after year and would appreciate your ideas. So if you would post your ideas here in this thread we will be checking daily
