Bud's 76' terra

Been working on the fastest 70chevy c10 with 20+mpg's lately so I havent spent much time on the terra. Using a 380hp 283 v8 mated to a tf727 with an overdrive and 3.73's. Top speed right now is about 140 and runs 15's in a 1/4 mile. But we're working on eeking out a little more juice while still being able to dial it back down to get 20mpg.

But yesterday I started fixing more rust and toying around the idea of the shackle lift. Put extended brake lines on so I could do it. But the shackle lift I found was flimsy and pathetic looking so its currently under the watchful eye of my father the champion welder.

So now the doors are off for paint. Bed liner is gonna go on soon

ill take a professional opinon as to wether I need a drop pitman arm

Kinda how my beast looks at the moment, but on the driver side. When my dogs were alive, they loved riding in the Scout. Especially when we went on road trips up to the snow

Been an interesting week. Got the doors in to paint. And my air compressor blew up. So I had to go get the old 300lb brick. Well then all my breakers blew and I found out my house was struck by lightning. Odd week for sure. Did get my welder working again for a while. So got my rear swing away bumper done. Its only for my handyman and jerry can so I didnt need it to be to hd however I ended up making it out of a bunch of hd stuff. I figure it'll be good for a prius catcher too if one tries to sneak up on me.

That happens to be the other new project. Found a prius body. And a cj frame. And I have a 305 laying around. So I decided to combine them, in the worst way possible. The end product should be a 270hp prius on 33's

but as for the Scout we were making progress today until weather shut me down again. As usual.

Used a stock shackle for the top hinge support

Just making sure everything was strong enough and would fit

As you can see the doors are outside about to suffer the wrath of the storm if I dont finish up this post soon.

Been building a no bend rollbar out of 1/4in wall 2.5in pipe. Kinda fun. Everything is tacked up. Working on the brackets that will attach it to the frame. This is the first time I've ever built a rollbar without using a bender. Should be cool once its done. Lots of 22.5 degree angles. Not usually fun. Didnt realize how heavy it was gonna be but hey. Part of the experience. Not anywhere near done but u get the idea

Alright mates. Loadstar is on total hold right now. Clutch. Engine. Body. Just cant pull it off for rmihr 20.

Soooooo throw the terra back together. Get her running right. Take left front fender back off and fix it correctly because the p.o. Hit a deer and apparently is fond of bondo.

Im gonna go ahead and grab the canned ham and roll on up the old school way.

Hard to believe but im back to work on my baby. I dont know for how long now, but for quite a while it seems ive had a broken head bolt. Of course IH v8 even when broken seem to run pretty well. View attachment 25439

A pulled the offending bolt a few months ago. Then promptly lost my job. Of course. Suprisingly now im back to work for "name brand parts store" and get wonderful discounts on my beloved IH parts. Finally heads are going back on. New gaskets. Plugs. Wires. Cap. Rotor. All the goodies for half the price. Ive caused mass panic around here. People thought I moved because I havent had my terra causing chaos up and down main street.

Pictures of my new goodiez to follow

New head gaskets....again. I hate these new fel-pro thick monsters.

When I do rocker assemblies and in general anything under 55ft/lbs I break out my baby. A 1950's torqometer from snap-on. Still under warranty according to them. It goes up to 600 inch lbs. Simple dial type that I trust better than my click types in that situation
