Broken lower shock mount

I have 1972 Scout 2 w/304,4 speed and drum brakes.
I've broken the front ,driver side, lower shock mount/plate.
The axle tag says: 41-11
3.73
I can't find one of these in any bone yard around here, and the part stores seem bewildered. Can anyone tell me if there is another make vehicle that would use this axle and mount/plate?
Thanks, gary

Is the spring plate broken or is the shock stud broken.

If the stud is broken off, it can usually be welded back on.

IHPA could very well have a used one if the plate is broken.

Yeah, the plate is broken.
I checked out the IHPA parts through the homepage, but didn't realize they had used parts.
I'll contact them Monday.
Thanks! Gary

It seems my plate broke on a previous crappy weld and glancing at the other side, I see a homemade channel iron plate/mount.
Some po must have really hammered on the little Scout!
I've got both new replacements headin' my way.
Thanks guys! ,gary

I have a 1972 Scout with a Dana 30 front axel with drum brakes, and a Dana 44 rear axel. I am going to put a SUA two and one half inch Rough Country lift spring kit on it. A couple of my original Ubolt plates have small cracks in them. Will your CPT SUA heavy duty Ubolt plate kit work on my Scout?

I ordered the new CPT heavy duty u bolts from IHPA and made up rear sliders for the SUA set up im running. I have not made my front ones yet. You will notice on the rear the shock is at an angle so I had to make a tab, heat it up and bend it so the bushing wouldn't get wrecked in the first hundred miles! I also adjusted the height of the shock tab as the Scout was designed to have the rear shocks be the lowest point on the rig and they were getting dragged across rocks a bit when I was out messing around. My thought was this design would get it up and a little more protected....

You've got an engineering problem there. As the springs flex the angle of the shock will change and bend that tab until it breaks off. To fix turn the bottom of the shock 90 deg so it will rotate on the bolt and not bend the tab. It might be best to add a 2nd tab so there is one on each side of the lower shock mount bolt.

Yes they will work however we recommend they be used with our 5/8" ubolts as the slots in our Ubolt plates are quite wide for a 1/2" Ubolt.

I have a 1961 Scout 80 with Dana 27's. I am looking for a replacement u-bolt plate with the shock mount attached to it. I can't seem to find anything out there. Does anyone know where I can get any? The previous one is all bent as there was a much too heavy plow attached to it. Any help would be appreciated!

Did you try calling our sales office to see if we had any used ones? If not call 530-274-1795 as we can see if we have or can find you what you need.
