Break Drum stuck?

+1 on scrapping that drum. That lip on the inside is to keep water out of the drum. It drum brakes don't work to well when they are wet. By the chip on the front of the drum is the deal killer for me.
 
Yeah I found one locally that a guy had left over from a parts car he did not need so he just gave it to me. Thank you all for you help. Next project on to the starter.....
 
He could smear some epoxy on it to try and keep the water out, but I doubt it would last with the heat and centrifugal force. The bigger concern is that the heating/cooling and expansion/contraction cycles combined with the damage will result in cracks that will eventually culminate in the 50 year old drum flying apart at highway speed and taking out the tire in the process.
 
Uh, x2 on scrapping.

You'll have balance problems, you might have hairline cracks leading to failure, and it won't cool as well meaning it'll overheat sooner than the others.

How about a base for your grinder stand :ihih:
