BRAND NEW 392-STILL IN CRATE

I bought this engine with plans to install it in my 68 800, but have since decided I'd rather have money than fun. This engine is still strapped to the pallet, the lifters are all in individual bags, it still has all the prelube on the cam etc. I had 3 of these, only one of which I opened. This one is sealed and has never been opened. It is just the shortblock. Which is the rotating assembly, block, etc. Does not include heads or tins, but I probably have a set of those too. It is still strapped to its original pallet so it would be no problem to ship, but it would have to go freight. I can load it if someone wants to pick it up locally.

I will be selling off nearly my entire collection of scouts and parts for any who might be interested. I have a few nos parts, some good parts, and lots of rebuildable stuff. I have too many projects and not enough time. My loss is your gain.

if my sources were correct, a rebuilt 392 with quality parts will cost over $2000 to buy and one of these factory crate engines was over $4000 the last time I called IH. Just looking for best offer. I need to make some room around here.

I would but, I dunno what to ask. My price is, best offer. The only information I've been able to find shows a used 392 for around $1000, and surely a new one should be worth considerably more than that. How does $2000 obo sound?

I dont have any idea what it would cost to ship...but I assume an ltl company like yellow freight could probably give you a quote. Its on a standard pallet and weighs under 1000 lbs. Asking 2000 obo.

Let me makes some calls on Monday and see what the shipping estimates are. Just to be clear, these are rotating assemblies - short blocks - no heads, or cam correct? Thanks!

This is the block with complete rotating assembly including camshaft and lifters...but no heads. If I remember correctly, the oil pan is in place, but no valve covers or intake.
