Brakes pulling left

My brakes have been pulling to the left. I checked the pads (ok) and on a recommendation, I changed out the calipers. Still have the problem of the Scout pulling left momentarily. Once the brakes are applied, the truck pulls hard left and then straightens out after about a second.

A couple of years ago I changed out the rubber brake line for the s/s ones. I read that the hoses could possibly be the problem but since they are fairly new, I don't think so!

Any ideas??

Have you checked the rear? Check the adjustment, check for oil on the pads/shoes and make sure the wheel cylinders aren't rusted or stuck in place. I just had a problem with that last one:d

Rear brakes and cylinders were just rebuilt two months ago. The problem is defiantly in the front braking system!

Well,,, I probably should have asked this first but: what is the year make and model? Are the brakes all stock except for the ss lines?

You said you changed the calipers. Did you change the pads too? Is the disc scored or grooved? Is there any play in the wheel bearing? Any of these could cause problems.

The rear could still be an issue. If there is air in the line it can cause that side to be slow to apply (air compresses) also if one side is adjusted tighter than the other it could cause a pull.

The Scout is a 1979, 345 with the 727 transmission. The pads were not changes since they are fairly new with about 80% pad remaining. The disks are in great shape, no grooving at all and the wheel bearings are adjusted properly. The system is stock with no modifications.

The rear brakes and cylinders are new also. I tried bleeding the system again and still have the problem. I checked the hard lines and saw no damage to them. The system looks good so I think I'll take off the passenger ss brake line and inspect for obstruction. I'll try using compressed air to check for flow. I May just change out the two ss lines to the calipers if the compressed air doesn't work.

I've been a good shade tree mechanic for over 40 years and never have I been stumped like this!

Are the flex hoses new? A pull to the left could mean a partial blockage in the right flex hose. It's happened to me, but then a lot of things have happened to me.
