Big Thank You!!!

patton's pride

Well we were able to try out patton's pride tonight, I didn't have any fresh catfish so we picked up some tilapia fillets and here's what happened.

First I rinsed off the fillets and got the fryer ready to go.

When everything was ready I dipped the fillets in some beer, just to dampen them the dipped in patton's pride and threw them in the fryer.

Here's a few more pics

Then we got down to business!!!

With the fillets and some rosemary and garlic red potatoes with some fine suds to wash it down we had a really good meal. Simple but tasty.

Clay you got 2 thumbs up from this customer. I can't wait to get some fresh fish and fry up another batch.

Dammit ron!!!! You got me wantin to eat the screen on the puter. Looks great!

I'm picturin a georgia yard bird and some a dem dare taters.

Ron-
glad you enjoyed it! Keep in mind one May use this breading mix with his vegetables too. I like to make a little buttermilk wash to run my veggies in before breading them. The buttermilk helps the breading stick to the veggies.

Really good pictures and thanks for walking us through your process. Only thing I would have done differently is cook with farm raised catfish. In my business, we call the fish you used "fake" catfish. The restaurants have built it up to be something it is not (imho).

Had a customer tell me a story of cooking cauliflower for a buddy on a camping trip in mi. They told their buddy that the cauliflower was a special type of fish only caught on the back side of the island they were camping. The buddy loved the "special" fish so much that all he talked about that night was catching more of that special fish for dinner the next night. Lol

I hear ya clay I looked at catfish fillets at the store and they were $6 a lb. I would have more fun catching them this spring.
Good thought about the veggies, I'll give it a try.

Ok, now I see a "white trash cookin'" sub-forum around here! The "white trash" recipe books in my collection are a treasure!

Clay does real guud with alligator gar filets, buffalo/carp heads and tails, and snappin' turtle laigs! If yawl ever set down at hiz table, do not ask what's in that iron skillet!

Omg michael! You have too much time on your hands these days. How do you find things like that on the internet? I assume you have to google using key words. Wonder what you used to locate that thing?

Yawl already know I'm dam sick and twisted,...stuff like this just pops out of the monitor randomly sumtimes! If it's politically incorrect and way off kilter, I'm on it!!

When I went through the 12 week rehabilitation program at the local horspital after they broke me open for the blood pump repair, I brought this grubstuff to class every week! I even catered a "white trash cookin'" party that the head of the rehab unit throwd for her husband, and patton's pride was dam shore part of the feed! The therapists and rns there finally figgrd out I was beyond hope, but the other folks there who wuz going through rehab also all thought that doin' the surgery on me wuz a total waste of time. Of course,...most of 'em continued to chainsmoke too once they got out in the parking lot!
