Bell Housing

While lubing this morning,, I notice this hole at the bottom of the bell housing. It doesn’t look treaded.
Is it supposed to be there?

1967 Scout 196, 3 speed manual trans. Can’t get pic right side up. Thanks!

Yes it is. If your rear main seal leaks or if a rear freeze plug leaks, you will see it dripping from that hole.

Awesome! It just had me scratching my head. I’ve laid up under this Scout a few times,,, and couldn’t remember seeing that hole.
