batteries

This latest batch of agm batteries are group 24 size: note that they are taller than the lead acid type.

If you let me know how many you want, I'll being them to the next babs gathering. $25.

Doc

They are new. I so happened by chance run into doc this morning rolling into my cave to pick up a motor. And he had two of them sitting there in the bed of his service truck. Which I needed for a dual battery setup I have planned. Became an unexpected wheeling and dealing. They a dry cell glass mat style. I kinda forget all the details, but when I did a google search last night, there was some good read on the subject.

These are not new batteries!

They are from the battery banks of 911 centers. They cost about $350, have 10 year warranty. 911 uses them 3 or 4 years and changes them out. They are donated to training for safety and, lucky me, I get to deal with them.

$25 each goes to tfs to keep your local police persons sharp.

This batch is group 24 size. They are about an inch taller than automotive group 24 which doesn't interfere on our IH trucks and scouts.

They have different terminals but your cables hook up easily.

I'll bring your batteries to the next babs meeting.

Ooops. With the two I received yesterday, I had assumed they were new. I still plan on putting them to good use

I still want one.
I plan on hooking this up to my solar trickle charger and just having it around as a "shop battery" for jump starting whatever else I have that might go dead. Scout, dirtbike, toyota, etc, (it wasn't me, I swear I didn't leave the dome lights on) ;)

Arg!
I think I jinxed myself. All this talk about batteries made my street bike jealous. On Monday the battery failed and I had to get a jump in order to get home after work.:frown5:

Hey doc,

I missed the December meeting but I still want one of those batteries. If you have any left, could you bring one to the jan meeting for me?

Marty

This batch of batteries uses an 8mm bolt to attach the cables.
If you clean your terminals, place them over the battery fitting and use a large washer and the bolt, they attach easily.

Yes moose, I'll bring you a battery and a some extras for those who May want them.

my terminals are stamped "6m" and take a 6 mm bolt.

If all else fails, we can always make you up a set of custom length cable with ends that will fit. Within the last year, I started making my own battery cables out of 2 gauge cables. If that appeals to ya, let me know and you can swing by my cave.

Thanks for the offer. I think the part I ordered will work, but if not I'm sure doc's suggestion will work.

If it says 6mm, it probably is 6mm. I belong to the flat earth society and have trouble with mm sizes.
Yes, they do deep cycle well. I have a couple of size 31s left if your rv has space for them. Most do. Contact me before the 14th and I'll bring them to the meeting.

Hey doc, thanks for the info on the batteries. I live in lake county but I'd be willing to drive down where you are to pick them up. I need 2 of them and I have plenty of room for them in the 5th wheel. Danny

Call me. 650 245 1199. I get up to sacramento and sometimes oroville so we might meet in the middle.
I have 24s and 31s at the moment - same price.
