Back country trail project

Well, it has been awhile.

This Scout was really a father/son project and we loved every minute of it. It's been almost two years since he passed away and we're pressing forward to complete it in his memory.

It saddens me to here that your son passed. I believe, in my case anyways, it is the reason we do these projects. My 2 daughters can’t wait for time with Dad out in the shop. It is my youngest goal to get the project done so she can be dropped off at school in it.
Anyways, it looks like things are moving along. I love these model 80/800. I can’t wait to see more progress.

Having shop redo the rear end too. Bearings, seals, brakes, changing out the lefty lugs for righties, and powrlok rebuild with extra clutches.

Faced with having to redo the 196 a 3rd time I've given up on it.

Looks like way back in the process the machine shop got one piston a little smaller than the bore. New machine shop and mechanic say no problem to punch it out .30 over and put properly sized pistons in. It will go up for sale in the classifieds here shortly.

I've committed to the GM v6 swap. Reviewing a possible motor source now and from there will start gathering the goodies to go with it. Will go carbed for now and use my existing edis for ignition.

Re-reading my post I see I might need to re-phrase it. The pistons I ordered were standard size and I'm certain they are that size, I can't imagine one being smaller than stock. The bore was made too big resulting in a loose piston.
