automatic to manual swap

Anybody ever swapped a 727 for a manual tranny? I found a complete donor vehicle, just wondering if there is anything else I need to look at, such as difference's in years, before I go ahead and buy it. Oh ya, the donor is a 72 Scout 2 with a manual, not sure what model, and it is going into my 76 Scout 2 with an auto.

This swap has been done in both directions so many times it would be impossible to count. Sticking with the sii platform makes it simple so long as you have all the needed parts to perform the desired swap. The one caveat is the engines between vehicles. I'm assuming that both rigs have IH sv8 engines? Oh, and both are 4x4 models? That makes a difference too.

Sounds good, yep engines are the same, does the exhaust routing differ between the two trannys? I was also wondering how you could be driving salma when she's riding with me!:icon_lol:

Exhaust routing is not transmission specific. There are both single and dual setups though. She can ride with you all she wants as long as she lets me continue to drive her.

Does the auto pedal bracket which bolts to the firewall need to be replaced with a manual tranny pedal bracket? I swapped out an auto to a t19 30 years ago but do not recall this being an issue. Super Scout specialist in ohio said the whole dash needs to come off to do the bracket swap. I do not recall removing the dash or swapping the bracket for the pedal swap. Just need to confirm before I attempt again.
