Anyone up for a show & tell?

Hi! I just joined-- here to crash your party. 🍻🥳

I'm starting my hunt for either a Scout 800 (with steel Travel Top) or a Scout ii (1975 or earlier). Ultimately, I'm looking to build a budget friendly overlander. While photos, youtube and forums are helpful places to start, nothing beats seeing the object of interest in person.

Is anyone in the south Bay Area up for doing some show & tell with me on their Scout 800 (travel top preferred) and/or Scout ii? I'd be interested in climbing in, on and through it, taking some photos and probably some measurements. A short drive would be cool if you're comfortable with it (you can be the pilot--I'm not trying to test drive your pride and joy).
Running or not, show-piece or pile, built or stock-- I'll take what I can get. I'd be happy to pay you with the beer of your choice! I'm located in San Jose, near the Valley Fair mall (280/880 junction).

I look forward to learning more about Scouts and building something to go play in the dirt (y)

I'd say you could use a Scout or Scout II for a 2 person overlander if you dont plan on using the rear seat. But a Scout Traveler would be much better for a 3+person family.

Budget friendly and overlander are two things that never work in the same sentence.

Budget friendly and standard car camping can be said in the same sentence.
