Anyone near Seattle with an AMC 6 powered PU or TA?

I did the same type of swap in my 74 Scout. If your 68 trav. Is anything like how the Scout is mounted, it's almost a direct bolt in. I had the 258 straight six, and installed a used 90 4.0 heep motor. The 4.0 kept the oem bolt pattern for the motor mounts that the IH 258 motor had. Heeps used the same motor back in the day, and the 4.0 was the direct replacement. It even has the same transmision bell housing. Only draw back the 4.0 motor has, is no provision for a mechanical fuel pump. Not a big deal since you're going efi.

Oh ok. Might be in need of some custom motor mounts made up. Or use the IH 258 motor mounts bolted up to the heep 4.0 motor and fab up brackets onto the frame to hold every thing in place
 
Ergo the problem. The 258 was used in p/us and t/as '72 to '75 only. No-one seems to have any nearby. I have full size Jeep 258 mounts (and frame horns) but I'd like to go closer to original if possible and at least get measurements so I have a baseline to go by. Getting the motor in the right depth is easier with oem mounts.
