Hi all!
I have a 1965 d1200 t-all with the sv304 and 4-speed.
Ever since I purchased this rig five years ago I have always wondered if the ammeter worked or was even hooked up. Regardless of what was turned on the needle never moved from the center position.
Recently I hooked up to one of the trailers in the evening and went to go the next morning. With temps down in the single digits it needed a little help getting started.
Ever since then the ammeter has been on the first Mark on the discharge side and hasn't moved up or down.
I have checked the system and it all checks out. With the engine off it shows 12.8 volts. If you turn on the headlights it goes down to 12.3 volts. Turn the engine on without the headlights on it shows 14.6 volts. Turn on the engine on with the headlights and it shows 13.8 volts. And the ammeter needle never moves.
Any idea as to what is going on?
