Aluminum Valve Cover Cap Thread Details

I purchased a set of valve covers awhile ago. I'm wanting to make a slight modification. I need to know the size, in inches, of the threads in the cap. I have found the pitch to be 12 TPI. But, need the X-y/z of the equivalent bolt size. Hope that makes sense.
