Aftermarket stall converter

Will a aftermarket performance stall converter work in a torqueflite with a 345, or will it need modifications? Would there be any advantage in using a stall converter for quicker acceleration from a stand still or would it be a waste of time? Any thoughts on this?
 
Usually a high stall speed torque converter is installed behind an engine with a big cam. This is to allow it to idle at a higher rpm and to allow the engine to rev to a higher rpm for acceleration.

A stock 345 starts making torque just above idle, so it May help to make impressive burn outs, but will mess with your off road ability.

the short answer is that without a big increase in the rpm at which your engine begins making atleast 75% of its rated torque a higher rpm tc stall speed it a total waste of money and it will most likely create a thermal problem for your transmission in any possible configuration. If you intigrate a lockup tc clutch you could have a zero slip cruise situation that would help but I don't think that will happen unless you swap in a late model trans.
