accelerator pedal 64 Scout

64 Scout 80, Holley 1904 carburetor, 152 engine. I've got a broken accelerator pedal (at the hinge area that bolts to the floor) , though the rest of the linkage is OK. I've tried to source a new pedal, they are either sold out, on back order, etc. What is the reasonable solution? Can I switch to a flexible cable, and if so, how difficult is that?

I’d repair/replace the pedal rather than convert it to a cable. The original pedal is a pretty simple bolt-on hinged piece, and the correct 1961–67 Scout 80/800 replacement is IH 860089R1. It’s currently listed by several Scout suppliers, although some are showing out of stock.
