I have a 70 800a and I have been told the seterring colum has been changed but I have no way of knowing if this is true. The problem I have is that the bearings are completly worn out. Does anyone know how to tell if the column is original or not and if I need to replace it what will work.

Any help will be greatly appriciated

You simply must post good quality pics of your current steering column in order to have us make any recommendations. We have no clue as to what unit you are talking about.

I need to see the inside cabin section of the column along with the under-hood section. Also need to see the output end.

The four cylinder s800 column and entire steering assembly is somewhat different from the sv (v-8) engine version. And we don't know which engine/unit you are referring to.

Sorry I left out important info I didn't know there was a difference. My Scout has a 232 straight six and a three speed trans.

Need some good pics, without pics we have no idea as to what steering column is in it right now and if it can be serviced properly.
