800 or a Scout II?

I'm coming from the Jeep world and looking to build either a 800 or Scout II. I wheel in the pnw so trails are tight and muddy which my Jeep worked great but always wanted a Scout. I will be locked and caged on 35's. I'm asking you knowledgeable ones here that have built scouts, what would you build, 800 of II?

What have you learned since you built yours that you would like to do over again? Any advice is much appreciated!

I have a 78 Scout II and a 70 800 sr-2 and they both have pros and cons. Unlike the Scout II, 800's usually don't have a d44 front and rear or ps. But personally I like my 800 more. Except for when people say "nice Jeep".

800's are smaller then Scout II's and if you have the knowledge/tools/experience to swap parts from a Scout II to the 800 I'd go with the 800.

Just my .02

good luck

Thanks been reading about swapping Scout II d44's into a 800. Since I'm thinking reverse shackle for the front and linking the rear the axle swap will be a piece of cake. That being said I do want a v8 and swapping that from a Scout II is a little more work.
