'80 Scout II front grill replacement

The grill on my '80 Scout is falling apart, and I have an aversion to rectangular headlights. How involved is it to mount an SSII grill to my truck?

It's not that difficult. Removing both headlight assemblies allows access to the bolts that run through the grille into the fenders. Then you have the row of bolts along the top which you can access with the hood open. There are also some bolts that run through the lower valance to the fenders which you May not need to remove if the valance and grille are separate items. On '75 and earlier grilles which were all metal, the grille was spot welded to the lower valance about every six inches across the width of the contact surfaces. Not sure about the '76 and up grilles. Hopefully not in your case as that would be the only real pita you'd have to deal with. You'd also need to source a pair of the round headlight buckets for the round lamps.

Hey are you going to round headlights?? If so would you be interested in selling the square lights, buckets, springs, screws, etc? Let me know im going the other way to a 1980 grille but need the light assemblies.
Let me know greg
