Does anyone know the factory numbers on body length, width, etc like was available for the sii on the bb. I dont believe I have ever seen the numbers for the 80's.

Can you be more specific? Exactly what measurements do you want? Or come by my shop and take all the measurements yourself off of one of the vehicles that is here as I have offered before.

Figured someone might have a factory book with the length and width of the vehicle, sorta like a sale brochure would have.

Apparently, the Scout II's are 70 wide and 160 long. Figured the 80's were prolly 70 wide also, and maybe 150 long?

I don't have a "profile" line art with specs like you are looking for.

But attached is a scan of the June/1961 issue of car life magazine's road test data.

This kind of "data" was supplied directly from the manufacturer to the mags for road test through a highly massaged "press kit"...I've been involved in many of those efforts over the years.

Perfect, thanks micheal.

2800 pounds
154" long
68.6 wide
67 tall.

Just what I need, hopefully they are fairly accurate, which I presume they are.

michael, do you have the rest of that article scanned?

No...we're treading on thin ice here regarding copyright!

But...find a copy of "International Scout gold portfolio, 1961-1980"' published by brooklands books. Isbn: 1 85520 3057

it's a compilation of n=44 enthusiast magazine road tests and press releases from ihc regarding only "Scout" vehicles. It's a real hoot to see how this stuff was pimped! Well worth the retail price of $32.95, snaked mine at the local borders.

Of course, I remember reading all these originals when I was a wannabe gearhead from the age of six!

This is the largest group of s80/s800-related marketing info you will ever find in one place. I do have a collection of the original "factory" spec sheets for almost any IH rig except all Scout apps!

This is a must have reference for any Scout folks.
