79" Dana 44 Front Spindle Grease

Okay, gotta a question. I have been doing a fair amount of reading on the subject and that has brought a question into my mind.

With all of the concern regarding a spinning hub race, what about the inside of the bearing surface on the spindle? I have seen posts where people are applying grease to the entire spindle surface. Wouldn't be better to omit any grease where the inside of the bearing makes contact with the spindle? What about even a bit of loctite? Thanks.

No, I myself would not grease them. There's enough grease in the hub that some gets there anyway. No locktite either except in an emergency. Hubs are made to come off for regular maintenance, and following the thread's advice will solve a lot of problems.

Thanks for the response. Okay, that was pretty much my take on it, but many of the photos seem to show grease coating everything so I started question it. I agree a locktite would be a bit too much. Thanks
