78 scout II for parts/ stripping party

Me and some friends just got this yellow Scout II rally for parts.there will be some good parts up for grabs here soon alot of brand new parts came along with this one to much to name mostly new engine parts lifters seals berings gaskets also brand new painless wiring harness alot of goodies in here worth what we paid

Im interested in the tires. What kinda shape are they in? What size are they?

that Scout looks like it maybe in too good of shape to part out!

X3 I noticed that earlier this morning. And wonder exactly it be stripped for parts. Only thing I came up with is if there's more rust cancer that we can't see.

Maybe do what Jeff suggested and clean it up then May be able to get more than what ya paid for
 
Yes I personally do not want to strip it but I was not the person who found it a friend of mine paul found this and he only wants it for the running gear I would love to restore it but I only paid for the tow to get it here so I just get what's left really also this tub is fairly good not much rust I will keep everyone in formed on what is gonna be up for salei hate to tear em down for parts but not really my choice I May be able to talk him into trading it for a Scout traveler I know of in someones yard that has same runninggear and all the stuff he needs o well we shall see
 
If the running gear is all that he needed, then one thought would have been to post up in the wanted section. I'm sure there's guys/gals here that May have the parts laying around. Heck, I mat soon have a spare Dana 44 rear-end that May become available. That is a maybe though
 
Hell, I've got running gear I'll trade him for it. I'll come tow the thing home too. It's way to clean to part out. The more we take off the road the fewer we have! I understand it not being yours but please try to talk to the owner!
 
Tryed and he got a killer deal and dont seem to want to do anything else I cant say much since im getting paid to do all of the work to all of there vehicles but I really want it for a person vewhicle I need some of your help guys to come talk this guy out of it
 
Here she is after a pressure bath makes it really hard to know where gonna strip it down but we are gonna make 3 nicer Scout daily drivers out of it

The tear down starts today very sad to know we could have had another cool rig drivn around but o well we will make 3 very nice other rigs out of it.... Still ashamed knowing how fairly clean this one is.
 
Indeed sad. I figured it would clean up well. It is a shame it's getten stripped for parts

it be a different story if it was a rust bucket
 
Ya not my call I was thinking of tellin them I canot be part of destroying an icon car but im makin money off the thing so I cant complain to much
 
Well its sad to see but here it is after tear down. So the plan is to use this running gear and tub for the rusty blue Scout, and whatever is left we build a rusty beater out of it, and other select parts will be installed on the green 75 Scout and some of the little things will be goin on my big Scout

I hope that the Dana 44 axles that was just posted for sale wasn't from this Scout. It be a shame that it was purchased and then stripped jusr for the axles only to turn around and sell them.
