I bought this this Scout from a friend about 8 years ago. Stock with a spring over.cleaned the rust out of the carb and fuel filter and drove it onto the trailer. Then cleaned the filter again and drove it of the trailer. Cleaned the carb and fuel filter again to drive it out back and it set for 5 years.

Then got a good deal on another 70hd with a factory posi and link mounts. So I linked it. Used Bronco graveyard coil mounts with 70s Ford 3 inch lift coils and ballistic frame mounts.

Tested out the new suspension. Rear springs stiff. They have drop but no compression.

Got a question about steering. I plan to upgrade to hyd assist but not shure if I am going to keep the stock box or change to somthing else. Has anybody had problems with the stock box that would make them want to change it out? I know I need to strenghten the frame eather way. It flexes preaty good right know.

Needed to make bigger fenderwhells since I cut out so much more body. My old wheelwhells where trailer fenders. They weren't welded to the floor because the steel was to thin. So I just cut it all out and going to replace it with sheet metal. Since everything is open I am going to upgrade to coilover shocks. Probably 18 inch foa's. Took out the coils and the frame is sitting on the lower links. So I guess that's bump height.

Started a dove tail on the rear. 10 inches on 1 side. Do the other side when I get a chance.

Its been windy on my days off so haven't got to the other side of the body. Welded in my shock hoop. Only had 1 set of upper shock mounts so could only do one side. Ordered another set for the pass. Side. Using mounts that wrap around the rubbing so I need them before I weld in the hoop.

Got everything for my fuel cell so worked on it. Walbro fuel pump gsl392, 4 walbro pickups, some 3/8 aluminum tubing and a lot of an fittings. Really like the aluminium tubing. Was able to tweek it with 1 hand for small adjustments when I was putting everything in the cell.

So it wasn't windy today and I had time so got the other side dove tailed. Weldings not done but will get back to that later. Ended up being pinched in 19 inches.

Haven't had time for this project lately. Have been working on my Ford step side. Found some fox air shocks on a rock crawling classified on facebook. They should be shipped today or tomorrow. Get some pics up when I get them. Here's a pic of the truck that has been keeping me away from my scouts.

Still havent got back to this but did find a good deal on some 18 inch fox air shocks. Bigger is better wright.

Mocked up where the boat sides are going to be. Start working on it this afternoon and a hail storm chased me inside. It's pretty windy know so not sure if I will get any farther today.

Guess I lied. Storm passed and went back to work on the Scout. Never done this much measuring just for a few cuts. That was nurve racking. Need to do some more cleaning up on the body to get everything square and then I can start welding. Using 2x6x.25 box tubing for the sliders and 2x2x.25 for the mounts from the frame. Haven't decided what to skin the underside with yet.

The sliders will be cut and bent in to match the dove tail.

Still to many other projects to work on this but picked up some axles. 419 unimog. 6.5 gears. Air lockers and disc brakes. Came with pinnion conversions and some extra bearings and seals.
