Passed smog yesterday, ready to sell.
This International Harvester Scout (traveler addition), has been our project for the last year. It's now running really well, and has been driving and hauling up a storm with ease.
It's a v8, powerful but not a terrible gas guzzler (around 17mgp and lots of get up). It is has a 345, 5.7 liter engine.
This has all happened within the last year:
rebuilt transmission.
Carburetor rebuilt and adjusted.
Put on brand new tires, plus alignment.
Put in a new stereo system.
Wired the truck for trailer hauling.
Changed the oil.
Replaced the fuel filter.
New brakes and new master cylinder.
New water pump.
New horn and lights.
Passed CA smog test on 1/29/16
paper work is in order, I have the pink, it's currently registered until June 2016.
The hard stuff has been done. The integrity of the Scout has been solidified, what's really left to do with the project is aesthetic, you May want to paint it, there's a minor rip in one of the seats, stuff like that.
The only thing I would have liked to fix but haven't yet: the gauges don't all work, so you May also want to have a gauge cluster created (they stopped working after a previous owner wired the battery backwards). We do fine without them, keeping an eye on the mileage, but it's up to you.
This thing belongs to an adventurer who loves old trucks! No tire kickers please, these are unique trucks I suggest you read up on them before pursuing this ad.
