Sale option 1: $3200 o.b.o.
Vehicle description:
complete 1973 Scout II restoration project, runs great, sell whole or part out. $3200 or best offer, will trade for guns and cash. Prefer to sell as whole vehicle. Everything is there. Looks rough but body is solid except for front corners of rear fenders; is restorable. Front body mounts are 40% deteriorated but for replacement I have new front body mounts, cab mounts, and all new urethane body mount bushings for this vehicle. All the other structural members under the body are solid and intact. Has 72 front grille, 73 body on a 74 chassis; registered as a 73. Dana 44’s front and rear, front disc brakes, IH 345ci v8, rebuilt 3000 miles ago. GM TBI fuel injection conversion; it is getting 16 mpg. It runs excellent and drives great on the highway, easily cruises along at 80 with no troubles. It does well offroad although low end is a bit dogish due to running 33" tires and stock diff gears. Although this gearing is contributing to my hwy mpg’s. Could use a steering stabilizer and reband the leaf springs of you were to keep them on. Has a hydroboost brake conversion, I have a spare tranny for it which is a 727 auto but installed is a t18 4 speed tranny with Dana 20 transfer case. Extra Dana 20 included. Frame and undercarriage in great shape. Tires are toyo 33x12.5x15 open country m/t and are brand new. I have many extra parts available.

Sale option 2: $1600
Scout body parted out; front fenders, body/tub, doors, full hard top, windshield cowl, new body mounts, new cab mounts, new body bushings.

complete running Scout: minus the TBI system; replaced with carbureted system, used and in excellent condition along with guaranty it passes smog. Minus hydroboost brake system; replaced with vacuum boost brake system, used and in excellent condition along with guaranty it passes safety. Re: Revised Listing, 73 Scout II Restoration Project

Any interior pix? I like this truck. Could I drive this truck 200 miles home with no problems.

I will post interior pix as soon as I can. I’m on a deployment at the moment. You can see some interior in the pix of the vehicle with the top off. Disregard that cause I have stripped away and cleaned up what was there.

I’m located near slc ut.

Yes you can drive it easily 200 miles and then some. It is that reliable. The past few years I have only been using it to go out elk hunting in the utah wilderness. I’d put on a couple of hundred miles a weekend. Runs and drives great.

No rust right? Im n cali so I want to learn as much as possible before I fly or drive out to see and buy. If its what im n to. Thanks

Just as the item discription reads:
looks rough but body is solid except for front corners of rear fenders, (between the door and the rear wheelwell); is restorable. Front body mounts are 40% deteriorated but for replacement I have new front body mounts, cab mounts, and all new urethane body mount bushings for this vehicle. All the other structural members under the body are solid and intact. Frame and undercarriage in great shape.
This is what you need to get:
patch - rear quarter panel 100" wb - Scout II
these patch panels are designed to fix cancer commonly found on the standard Scout II trucks with the 100-inch wheelbase. These filler panels fit between the door and the rear wheelwell. Simply cut out the old metal and weld these in, touch up with bondo, and paint!

A competetor to IH Parts America sells them for $55, but I’m sure Jeff at IH Parts America can get them for you. Check with him first.

Sorry I cant post more pix till I get off duty and back home.

Let me add to the description. There is no significant amount of rust really. I do mention what areas have some decay due to rust but it is truly minimal and a very easy fix. The majority of the underside of the tub has had some sort of mild undercoating applied. It May not be favorable but it is a very thin application. Even easy to remove. I don’t know what product it is. But I’m certain it played a huge role in preserving the tub, fenders, wheel wells, etc… it is a thin enough application to tell for certain that there is no coverup of rust.
I can see why the front body mounts have deterioration due to having direct exposure behind the front wheels. As for the portion of body between the doors and front corner of the rear wheel wells; I don’t know why they decayed but the rest of the rear fender/wheel well area did not.

Is your Scout still available with everything mentioned in full price?

If so would it be able to make the drive back from CA to wa?

Yes it is still available. I’m just finishing up the interior. New bucket seats, center console, and spray-on bedliner. No additional cost to any potential buyer. Just trying to clean it up and make it look more appealing. This vehicle is in utah. You had asked if it could make it from CA to wa. Yes it could.
