Where is the cheapest place to get new rubber bushings for the trans mount? $40 seems a bit high for two pieces of rubber.
 
You mean cheaper than what's offered from the vendor that owns and maintains this forum? These are IH specific items that don't cross to other vehicle makes. Your options are pretty limited in this case, but at least you have a couple available to you. That comes with a price.
 
Just thought I'd mention that I bought some "cheaper" motor mounts for my 258. While changing oil one day, I found a pretty nasty dent in the bottom of my oil filter where it was hitting the motor mount underneath it, because the motor mount on other side had separated only 6 months after installation. Couple of more revs and it would have ruptured >>> real expensive. Doesn't mean just because they cost more that they are better. Bought some "super heavy duty" mounts from "omix ada" (weep parts) for five times the price. They got sent back with some nasty comments, because they were exactly the same cheap mounts made in india. Buy from a reputable dealer like the one that runs this forum who cares about what they sell, and you will be better off.
 
You're lucky it was an india made part! Most omix-ada seem to be chicom parts now.

Ps: if your 258 mounts are the same as Jeep ones, there is an Energy Suspension poly mount for them (it even fits my eagle wagon)
