700R4 Adapter and Misc

Jeff,
I purchased a complete aa sv/700r4 adapter kit from a buddy and am getting ready to install it in my '75 t-all 2wd. I was told by Mike moore you have modified sii shifter gates to work with the 700 shift pattern. Do you have a good picture of the modified gate and or explanation on what you did that you might be willing to post or email me with?

Second question, the transmission I have is out of a column shifted g series van so it has the wrong linkage on the side of the transmission. Again is there anyway you could tell me the center to center measurement on the hole that attach to the rod going into the trans and the one where the ballstud/shilft cable bolt attaches for the setup with the sii shifter?

I would try and call you to discuss this, but I have poor service where I live .

Thanks

Its not imperative to change the shifter comb. The trans will still operate, you just won't be able to access first as an isolated gear. Might not be a big deal to some people.

As for shift rods, check these guys. This is a pretty good kit and should get you dialed in.

#6010701 shift arm kit - short [6010701] - $44.95 : kugel komponents, quality komponents since 1969

Here is a pic of a modified shifter comb for a console shifter. I copied what Jeff does and added a new park position. This requires some grinding of the original park notch, but its not a huge deal.

Good luck.

Thanks guys!

Jeff, I found the thread after I posted and then talked to michael (I think that is who it was) while you were out of the office on the show circuit.

Dealbreaker,
that is exactly the pic I needed and thank a bunch for the link!

Here is a link to my write up thread over on the binderplanet.
