'69 2WD Auto Transmission Cooling

I recently picked up a 800 right hand drive w/ auto transmission. It appears to have been liquid cooled. I notice the cooling lines had been removed from the water pump and the water pump has a bypass hose on it.

Engine runs well, but I'm fixing the brakes so I can determine the performance of the transmission as I haven't been able to drive it yet.

Is anyone here familiar with these transmissions? I have done enough research to know I will have challenges should I find something seriously wrong with it.

I think it's a bw11, but not sure how to confirm? Should I try to reconnect new cooling lines before I test drive? I'm concerned about too much heat while testing without cooling connected. I have attached pictures for reference. I appreciate any guidance!

My references on the pictures are as if you were sitting in the driver seat (lh=left hand. Rh=right hand)

Those heater hoses go to the heat exchanger you pictured and cool the transmission fluid. For a quick test drive you would be ok but I would hook things back up and find out if that heat exchanger is any good.
